At Diamond Valley Dentist, we’re all about improving the patient experience wherever possible, because we want our patients to have a positive relationship with the dentist. That’s why we invest in the latest digital and laser technology that makes appointments faster, treatments more comfortable and less invasive, and allow us to detect disease and decay earlier so we can keep your smile healthy and beautiful for life.
We are proud to have a bilingual team so if you're a Spanish-speaking patient, we can ensure you receive quality care you can feel confident about.
In the past, the only way we could detect cavities was through visual inspection (2% detection rate) and bitewing x-rays (96% detection rate). DEXIS CariVu™ transillumination technology allows us to detect small cracks and areas of decay that may not be visible otherwise, at a detection rate of 99%. CariVu hugs each tooth and bathes it safe, near-infrared light, making the enamel appear transparent while cavities and cracks trap and absorb the light, making them visible. With CariVu, we can detect problems sooner so we can treat them before they become larger and more costly to fix down the road.
Digital x-rays have been a wonderful advancement in modern medicine and dentistry. Digital x-rays are not only safer than traditional x-rays, reducing radiation exposure by up to 90%, but they are also more accurate with less chance for human error, and more convenient as they can be taken in a matter of seconds right from the dental chair. Digital x-rays can be instantly converted to images on the screen so you can see what we see and gain a better understanding of your oral health and treatment needs.
Rather than relying on our eyes alone, with the help of a tiny dental mirror to get a good look at the surfaces in your mouth, we’ve invested in advanced intraoral camera technology. Intraoral cameras allow us to see real-time, high-resolution images of every surface of your mouth so we can get up close in personal to better detect disease and decay. Intraoral cameras also allow you to see what we see, so you can understand what’s going on in there to make informed decisions for optimum health.
We know that our patients appreciate simplicity when it comes to treatment, and we always want to prioritize your comfort and time by making your appointments go as smoothly as possible. One tool that helps us achieve this goal is called the DryShield. It protects your airway from liquid and debris during procedures, holds your tongue and cheek comfortably out of the way, and has a bite block that allows you to rest your teeth instead of straining to keep your mouth open. The device also has multiple mouthpiece sizes, making it safe and suitable for children and adults alike.
We understand the fear and anxiety many patients experience when it comes to dental treatment, especially if it involves the drill. That’s why we’ve invested in electric handpieces to make your treatments as relaxed and comfortable as possible. Electric handpieces are like the Cadillacs of dental drills. They offer enhanced patient comfort with a quieter, smoother operation.
With your mind not having to focus on keeping your mouth open and your tongue in an awkward position, you can focus on something fun during your appointment! We have televisions you can pay attention to during routine maintenance or extensive procedures. We think being able to catch an episode of your favorite show or take in some news or sports during a visit can make taking good care of your smile even more rewarding!
